Your AI in the I-mode panel
Your AI works for you, using your key. You can ask it questions, plan with it, or let it change your code.
Talk to your AI
- Set Send to to My AI. In solo mode, the AI is your only option.
- Choose a mode.
- Type your request and press Return.
Modes
| Mode | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Ask | Get answers about your code. |
| Plan | Work out an approach before changing anything. |
| Agent | Have it create and edit files and run commands. |
Effort
The effort menu above the message box sets how hard the model thinks: Default, Minimal, Low, Medium, High, Extra High or Max. Higher effort is usually slower and can cost more.
Give your AI context
- Attach an image or a file with the buttons in the tool row.
- Open the relevant files.
- In a session, your AI can look up what your team is working on.
Approve commands
When your agent wants to run a command, a card shows you the command. Select Run to allow it or Deny to refuse it.
Tip
Read each command before you approve it, especially anything that deletes files or changes your Git history.
Stop your AI
While your AI is working, the send button turns into a red Stop button. Select it to halt the AI at any time.
How your AI is kept safe
- It treats teammates' messages and files as information, not as instructions to follow.
- It can't read files that usually hold credentials. See the list.
- Text that looks like an API key or token is masked before your AI's replies are shared with the session.
