Shared previews

Share an app running on your computer so teammates can try it in their browsers, without deploying it.

Share your app

1. Start your app locally, such as with python3 -m http.server 5173.
2. Select the people icon, then Share running app….
3. Enter the port, such as 5173, and select Share.

Open a teammate's app

1. Look under the session title for a line such as "alice's app · port 5173".
2. Select Open. The app opens in your browser.

The page reloads for you when the sharer changes a file.

Stop sharing

Select the people icon, then Stop sharing app. Sharing also stops when you leave the session, and after 2 hours at most. To keep going after that, share it again.

Troubleshooting

If you see "Nothing answered on localhost", the app isn't running on the sharer's computer, or the port is wrong.
